Description and tools used for the Simulation sub-team of Piano Hand

Piano Hand simulation focuses on getting a 3D ROS-based simulation setup with Piano Hand to help eliminate the dependency of the other software and hardware sub-teams for testing purposes.

Simulation progress in the past can be split into two major phases:

  1. non-ROS: Attempting to get a basic simulator setup without having to get ROS setup for Piano Hand testing purposes. Primarily consisted of using WeBots, a simulation software.

  2. ROS: Realizing the importance of ROS with the full system integration, Gazebo was chosen to test and implement the simulation.
